Well currently, I have my guppy and molly fry together whom are growing very rapidly and are approaching the size of the adults. They are with their parents. I was wondering would they cross breed?

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a single fry a lot smaller than the other fry. He/She continued to grow. It looks like he/she has the body of a guppy and has little spots on it like a molly. Could this possibly be a cross? It's eating and acting as normal as normal could be. I think it's pretty neat. :good:

Any ideas?

It's possible, just search for the thread "Good Golly!" The fry are very weak, however; so if it is a cross, it probably won't survive without super-special care. :good:

I have a golly and it dosent need special care. I keep it with 2 smallish kribs and a whole bunch of feeder guppies in a 30 gallon tank with 2 30g filters, and the once to 2wice a month gravel vacums and treated water. It does fine and it is thriving. And i dont get this nonsense of them being "weak"mine is very healthy and has never been sick.

If you have both male and females of both fish then they will not cross, it's then the female cant reject other sperm for their own species that they may use it and cross, but it's very rare still.
