Im sure both are pregnant but I am not sure how far along they are or when they might dry there fry. I am new to the mollies but my platies have had fry so I was thinking it was the same things to look for. If anyone could give me an idea of how far along they are that would be helpful.

The first one looks like she will drop soon, the second far from it. They are very pretty, especially the orange and white one! :good:

Agree with Treefrogs; the yellow one is very close, as she's squared off; should be a day or two at most.

Thanks! As for the first one I was thinking within the next two weeks? As far as the black one I wasnt sure but she is bigger then the others.

If I put her in a breeding net in the evening with some floating plants would that be to small for her(just in case she has them at night)? Right now I have her in a 55 with 7 other fish. I have a 10 gallon fry tank but already have babies in there so I do not think would be best to put her in there.

Personally, I wouldn't use a breeding net; just let her give birth in the tank and catch any fry and put them in with the other fry. Mollies have so many fry, you're very unlikely to be able to look after them all properly; you'd need a lot of grow out tanks to do that.

If you do put her in there, overnight is fine, but don't keep her in there for more than a day.

My black molly had her fry last night! They are my first molly fry. These guys are so much bigger then the platy fry but still very cute!

I put the fry in there own tank yesterday and this morning it doesn't look like any made it! I don't get it only cause it is a established tank and I had check all the levels before hand to make sure. Could they have died from the stress?

Fry can be very sensitive to changes in water quality. Sorry for your loss, but your mollies will have plenty more fry for you :good:

In future, try to fill the fry tank with water from the main tank to start off with.

Okay I'll take note of that. I did miss two fry from the main tank and saw them swimming around this morning! Think I'll leave them there in hopes that they make it.
