I got a dalmation molly 5 or 6 weeks ago, now he is black. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is this normal? Will he turn back?
These are pictures of the SAME Molly taken about 6 weeks apart. Really, it is the same fish.

might just be the change of water my male guppy was just a yellowy colour and i bought him a tank to go in and his body went a darky grey colour with blue strips never seen it on a molly though

also it looks like he was just a little baby and growing into a adult and getting all of his colours through

i herd this i dont know if its true of not;
the original (BOTTOM) color was probably black
and overtime as it grew
it changed to its color

That's normal. Some Dalmation Mollies are born almost all white, and as they mature, they usually get darker. They may even keep getting darker all through their life.

It happened to mine. They started out looking just like your's did in the first picture, and over a few months, they got darker and darker.

He's a very pretty Molly, by the way. :)

I've noticed my mollies changing colour as they get older, too. My pure white sailfin molly male has started to get a black border tip on his lyre tail and golden stripes on his body... it's really very pretty! And I thought he was pretty as a pure white!
