Mollie Wont Get Pregnant

CAN A MOD DELETE A COUPLE OF MY TRIPLE POSTS PLEASE, NOT SURE IF I CAN DO IT.

OldMan47 - That's great you get all those fry from one female. I have thought about breeding, but to be honest I have a few pets now and not sure which ones I want to start breeding with. Although my mollies have only dropped a few in the last month, I couldn't afford the space so I gave them to the local LFS, but I did keep one Dalmation back to replace a loss I had.

When I decide to expand my tanks I have two choices. One is to find a new fish that interests me, which happens quite often. The other is to take the best of something that I have bred and decide to not move them all to club auctions and fish stores. I can fill any tank that I care to all the way to overflowing in less than 6 months with just the breeding that goes on all the time in my tanks. If I decided to get a really large tank, right now my biggest is only 125 gallons, it might take a little longer to fill one like 300 gallons to overflowing unless I started intentionally saving fry to fill it.

I really need to get a second tank, I only have my 300 litre at the minute, and I didn't think too far ahead about sick fish. And when one of my Mollies had swimbladder I went to treat it, during this dosing period my amonia rose quite high and I lost an armoured shrimp, apparently they don't rect to well to th emeds being added. So the second tank will be a quarantine tank, with amybe a fe fish in just to keep the nitrogen cycle going. Not sure if thats the best way, gottta read up some more on that. Then that way if any fish in my main tank get sick aI can transfer the shrimp to the quarantine tank and treat all of the primary tank.
this second tank I was also considering using it as a primary breeding tank but I'm not sure yet. It will probably be 30 or 60 litre one.
