Mollie gestation period?

Does anyone know how long between ferilization and delivery for mollies? Can't find an exact period in any of my library sources or online.

I' ve got a very pregnant looking mollie, but her mate died 2 weeks ago. But, she also eats like a pig!

Been a long time since I've raised livebearers. Maybe I should stick with the angel tank and leave this one to the kids! )

No wonder mine are looking fat. The question is: Who's the father? I bought the mollies in pairs, a dalmation and a silver short-fins with black lyretails as the dads. Then I bought a pair of orange sailfins on impulse.

But then I had a disaster with my tank and when I got back from holiday all that remained were the sailfins and the two female short-fins.

So I'm expecting moggies, but you never know - I might get some black lyretails, dalmation short-fins, dalmation lyretails...

Anna do you mean you're keeping them in pairs of male and female? It's far wiser to keep more females than males...

my livebearers book say 6 - 8 weeks only guppys take a month .... of course it slightly different with each fish like with peeps some babys come early some come late!!!

I bought two pairs of mollies who were already living together in the LFS tank and had done for several weeks. Then I bought a pair of sailfins who had also been kept together. So I ended up with 3 males and 3 females, but two of the males died. I am aware that I can't add any males now that the sailfin has got used to being the only male in the tank.

I ended up the right way in the end anyway. Pity about those males...

ohwel its best to have only one male other wise its gets messy even having tow males is not good in my tank micky always chase ralph away form his gf!!! now ralp is with heln and also micky chase helen very men platy micky is!!
