i have a fry tank with 4 week old and 2 week old and i was wondering if i can put them in my main tank.the reason i want to know is that my pump on my filter has just broke  ,and i dont want them in the tank with no filter.can somebody please advise me,i'm not sure what to do, as i want them to survive. -_-

Ok this is not an end of the world situation, dont panic: The key to this is that the fry should be large enough now not to fit in their parents mouths, or whatever other predators you have in your tank. Simply place them in a transfer bag, and acclimate them accross(this will minise loss), then making sure the tank is dark, and the fish in it are well fed, add the fry. Note that hopefully you tank is at least semi planted with some cover to allow for the maximum survival rate. With this method you should have a large survival rate due to the advanced age of your fry.

well you dont really need a fliter with a fry just change the water every 2 days. what other fish do you have? some times fry arent that smart and will go around fooling around with the other fish making them want to eat the little buggers be carful they dont get sucked into the fliter eaither.

the other fish that i have are
mollies
guppies
peppard coreys
featherfin catfish
2 dwarf gouramis
1 baby albino red tale shark
1 bristlenose plec
the 4 week fry should be ok cos they are aleast 1 inch long were as they other are still small.if they wont last i just might do water changes every 2 days.thanks for your help :thanks:
