Mixing Loaches

I've had 3 yoyo/pakistani loaches for ages and got a zebra loach yesterday. Now I just read on a different site that zebra loaches need to be kept 3 or more together. Do I need to get 2 more or will it be happy with the yoyos? Thanks

the more the merrier with loaches. but yeah try and get at least 2 more zebras.

On the other hand I might be getting rid of the one zebra I have - I think its eaten a tetra and am not very happy with it. Its a grumpy little thing.

Its probably grumpy because it was by itself. Loaches are very social and to get their normal behaviors, they need to be in groups of their own kind. You may find that those YoYo loaches you have will get nasty at times too.

but i agree with barracuda,
less loaches = less active and grumpy
more loache = your favourite fish ever
