II know its advised to keep Corys in groups of bout 6 or more, but I was wonderin if these have to be the same type of cory.
I'm wondering if the differnet colouring patterns, are just different colouring patterns or are they of different species??

Some will some wont, ive found from time to time the cory's ive had past and present would prefer to keep to there own species..... you will always be better off going for a group of 4+ of one type of cory rather than 1 of each species... you may get lucky and they all stay together, you may find they just wont interact at all... i personally would always buy the same species if your keeping to one group

Thanks for the reply Jen

When i first set up me tank i didnt realised how much they needed company and had only got one peppered cory. after a couple weeks i got an albino cory, and the peppered on was all over the albino. It constantly followed the albino, and practically sat on top of him for a few days.
Watchin this actually made me emotional, cos it was so clear to see he had been lonely.
Ive now got a bigger tank to use, and will be gettin them more playmates,

maybe should i get a couple of each type> peppered and albino?

If your tanks big enough, maybe get another 3 of each bringing the groups upto 4, will make both parties much happier :).

I know what you mean i rescued a lonely sterbai a while back that just looked really miserable, put him with my group of 10 and his appearence changed and was far more active, was so sweet to watch him chase and be chased by the other cory's, nothink better than watching cory's play... its like watching dogs run around a park together... very very sweet... when you see these sort of things you relise just how rewarding this hobby can actually be sometimes :)

Good luck with getting some more m8, im sure your two will appriciate even more company ;)
