Mixing Cories

Hey,

Once we get rid of our common plec, we'd like to buy a small group of cories.

The only problem is, that my girlfriend and I prefer different types.
So if we got 2 different types, would they shoal together - just as if all 4 were the same?

And if so - what are the best cories to put together?

You can get albino and bronze as I believe they're both C aneaus (sp?) and the same type. Most cories prefer the same type to shoal with i know my 2 types definately shoal with their own kind

ive got 1 bronze and a panda that swim together and sleep together, and then ive got 2 peppers and 6 high fin peppers that swim together and now and again they all swim together

I have peppers and bronzes and they tend to stay with their own kind while swimming but all sleep in the same place.

I agree. They will stay in the same areas of the tank together, but will stay closer to their own kind. For example, in my 30 Gallon, I have 6 Albino C. Aeneus and 5 Trilineatus. They stay together on one side of the tank, but they sit in different groups.

My shwartz cories shoal and huddles and feed together but my pepper's don;t shoal with each other at all but some times a few will follow the shwartz.

After reading what you have to say I think we're going to go for one species - as then we can have 4 or 5 of them and they should feel happier in such a group.

My next question would be; are Aspidoras virgulatus hard to get hold of? As I think this is the Cory for us!

Probably hard to find, at least around here. Thats the first time Ive ever heard of them.

Never seen them and even corydorasworld and planetcatfish dont have a lot of info on them, nice fishies and good luck in finding some, I have never seen them for sale and would have gold laser corys everytime
