Mixing Bettas

I have a 120 gallon (yes a 120) fish tank with two male bettasin it and there fine with lots of females

Males and female bettas are fine as long as there is enough hiding spots for the female and enough females. i male - 3 or 4 females in a 20 gallon or more

My betta has been moved into my 2 gal tank now! Though i dont think id want to have risked putting females in with him as my other tank is only 10 gal. I do have a 75 gal tank but never got round to buying a heater and filter for it... they're not cheap and im a student!!!!lol

He seems ok on his own in the 2 gal. I dont really want to put anything else in there with him incase he eats it.... I think ill buy a couple more guppies for my 10 gal to brighten it up a bit though!

In a tank that big it's probably easy to forma hirarchy and be kind of like in the wild, ocassional encounters but each male has his own territory and females.

But in a 2 gallon, that just can't be done.




Do you have any other local fish stores in your area because the one you go to sounds like they are either
A: Stupid
or
B: Money hungry

I assume that was for me? The only other place i have locally is 'Pets at Home' - i dont know if you're in UK or not, but if not its a really big chain store thing, kind of like petco or whatever they have in America. I never buy fish from there, i got given a dwarf gourami by a friend who bought it from there. It wiped out my entire tank because it had a parasite!!! It killed my last betta He was SO cute... bless him!
But yeah, thats about it, other than a place in a garden centre but they're bad quality there too!! The place i go to is supposed to be good... the fish are all healthy and ive never had one die when ive brought it home... Though i guess not all of the people who work there know what they're talking about!

They gave me my money back on the shark though but they weren't too happy about it! lol
