Mistake To Buy On Ebay

She's willing to do it - at least for me - I'm probably the first one to blow their stack. I also gave her a lesson on how to pack them. I've sent off over 100 in the past couple of months so I've gotten the hang of it very nicely. Told her where to get the bags, etc

LOL it looks like they were very pretty guys.

Willing to do what? Replace your fish?

What on earth?!?
Surely that was the first time they'd ever shipped bettas? I don't understand why they have nice fish in the first place if they didn't know you can't pack two fish together in the same bag, that just seems like common sense

i bought on ebay once but it was from suthasine and chok pengdit, whom i already knew were reputable. these are the fish i got, both male plakats:

Can he be reported to Ebay?

Honestly I think the only thing you could do is leave negative feedback. You really aren't supposed to be buying/selling live animals (except for snails..for some odd reason they are ok) on Ebay. Teeeeeechnically...you could get them banned from Ebay for selling live animals...but they won't replace live merchandise or refund money based on a live purchase..neither will Paypal (if you bought it on Ebay).

That really sucks that the person was so irresponsible. Some people, I swear.

actually, the sale of live tropical fish is permitted as per ebay policy:

"Other than the exceptions noted here, eBay does not allow sales of live animals or pets on eBay. eBay allows sales of tropical fish and domestic (i.e. not exotic) aquatic snails, provided the seller has the proper Federal (APHIS PPQ) - see Form 526 info below) and/or State permit(s) that allows for movement across State lines (and/or for importation into the U. S.), and provided that the seller guarantees in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely, and shipped via next day delivery."

Well they must have changed it recently, because it use to only allow the snail part.

Still though...I doubt the seller in question here had the paperwork it says it requires. And if you didn't check beforehand...I'm sure that is their built in loophole to keep Eay from having to help.

Then you have the packaging and the shipping. She stated the seller shipped them Priority, not overnite. :/

I guess it would be worth it to at least inquire..since they have changed the rules to atleast allow fish to be sold now.

SuperSixOne, that gold plakat is TO DIE FOR. Stunning.

Nashnut, even if this seller sends you new fish, you should still leave negative feedback IMO. It's just sick.

The first one is not toooooo bad... he's up and about

The crown tail is just sitting on the bottom now.

I dont know much about bettas but that there is a begginers mistake she just propably bought them from the store and then sold them by herself.   ...I mean that cant even be a begginers mistake because usually b4 buying them the LFS usually tells you there FIGHTER FISH!!! I dunno maybe she just forgot to add the fighter to the fish...Eh... Well I always knew that ebay wasnt a good place to buy fish because its not mainly for fish...Maybe try Aquabid.com next time. But they do mostly U.S shipments so if your in the U.K its better to ask another person from the U.K since they have more sites based in the U.K...(Theres tons of people from the U.K here!!! ;) ) But I hope you get your money back or new fish...I mean FIGHTER FISH...lol...Just wanted to say that one more time.

Im sorry to hear about those poor bettas. I check ebay regularly for betta's but now frankly im a little scared... Im guessing the only way to get round it is to hope future sellers have enough knowledge- they will prob think you're patronizing them if you ask for them in seperate bags!!!

I thought they would have a rule about shipping. That could be a mistake on Ebays side.

1. They dont care what kind of bags fish are shipped in (size).

and

2. I wouldnt know much about shipping fish but that right there could drive me crazy for days!

Did they provide a pic of the fish before you bought them? Because I wonder what they look liked before they got shipped to you?

Some people really need to read before posting.....and they would know the answers to their questions.
