We're still treating him for ragged fins, they were like this when we purchased him.

thanks, yeah we're pretty happy with him.

Did our good deed for the day earlier.. When I was purchasing my ordered fish we noticed lfs had dropped a lovely black and rusty coloured VT into a tank FULL of penguin tetra's.. The fish was getting mangled!

So, like a ninja, when the assistant went away for a moment I slipped in their net and moved the Betta in with a couple of female Mollies, a bit better. I also advised that they put in some meds for the fish and said why I did it afterwards, woman was useless.. She's also the reason I have a firemouth as my female Ram..she's mixed them into the same tank :S

Male should hopefully recover.. Stupid stupid woman.

Beautiful boy. Just curious, is that a female betta in the upper left of that pic? Because she looks INCREDIBLY stressed. :(

Sorry, forgot to check on this topic.

That photo was taken relitively soon after the fish were added to the tank, the stress colours had been there since moving.

The females are doing well with the male, all seems well and good. So, I beg to differ.

Firstly, what size is the tank?

I have a male in with my females but it's a 125ltr tank and I spent a fair few days/weeks, getting both sexes use to living together. None of my girls have stress lines, neither does he.

It can be done but in a smaller tank (smaller than 100ltrs), I would never suggest it and never suggest it to someone who is not used/ or doesn't have much experience with bettas.

Beautiful boy you have there, i also have a male in with my girls (brought him as female) but they are doing fine in there current 60l tank although in a week they will be upgraded to there new 125l, only 1 of my girls show stress stripes and thats just during feeding time where the ram is a pain
