hi,
my molly gave birth on September 1. Around September 4 she started getting big again. I talked to people and they said she would give birth again in about i month. Around October 2nd she looked like she was gonig to pop so i put her in the breeding tank over night. next morning nothing. I left her in their for 3 days. The third day she seemed to thin out again. I took her out and she went about normally in the main tank. Well its been a long time. shes gettin a little bigger but not much. will she ever have any more fry? plz plz tell me i need to know!!! :-(

oh bye the way yes the breeding tank was cycled i was feeding her and everything

Once I bought a pregnant platy, and she miscarriaged from the stress from the move. I don't know if that move would be enough to have her miscarry though. Although, I know some fish that abort the brood on their own.

Just last night my Fancy Guppy had Fry, and instantly devoured three after their birth. It is possible that your guppy gave birth in the three days that she was in the net, and while you weren't looking… ate them. :sly:

Another possibility into miscarriage: I have experienced other live bearing fish to have a small number of live Fry and within the birthing net discover multiple small egg-like objects of possible undeveloped Fry, that too can become food for the birthing female.
