Just noticed today that my long finned zebra danio was missing in my tank. I assumed he was dead but when I told my friend she told me to check the filter. Sure enough, he was stuck to the cartridge. A bit battered, but still alive, thankfully. I have no idea how he got in there, seeing as the holes on the filter tube arent nearly big enough for him to fit. About a week ago, when I was scrubbing the algae off the walls of the tank, the bottom part of the tube fell off but I quickly put it back on. I think he got sucked up when that happened but I didn't see it and the thing was only off for a minute. Thats the only explanation I can think of. Im still amazed he survived that long in there. What on earth did he eat for 6 days?
He wouldnt eat when I fed him after returning him to the tank, probably still traumatized. Hes moving and acting normal though.
Ive never had this happen before. Has anyone else had their fish sucked up the filter?
