could you put minnows in a pond? so far we've got koi in there. the temperature here is never very harsh, since we live in california on the coast.

depends on the size of the koi and minnows. koi are really fast growers so it might not be a good idea.

why would it depend on the size? white cloud mountain minnows are very small, do you think that they would be eaten?

koi are fast and would see the minnows as food. if it fits in the mouth it will be eaten.

I have to Agree

Koi will eat anything that fits in their Mouth

Minnows WOuld Be Appetizers.

Seen a Koi Devour Axollotils.

WCMM's are slow and stupid when compaired to other minnows. Despite what has been said Koi are not overly predatory fish and given ample room a minnow population could survive, Personnaly I would go with a native minnow or dace (minnow) incase of escape, Just start with say 20 in your pond and you can get a good sized population in a few years if your lucky, and they will eat the mosquitoe larve that are to small to entice larger and more herbivourus Koi
