Minimum “tank size” for betta?

Ahhh ok. I am looking into a 14 gallon cube at my local Petco, it is 15 inches long, 15 inches wide, 15 inches tall. (I think that is just about 38 centimeters?) I don’t think I would fill it full though, maybe 8 inches? And let some plants grow out of the surface of the water. It is $40 though, so I am going to see what my LFS has
Could be nice :)
Keep in mind Betta love jungle, dim light and live food ;)

Yes! My LFS has a sale on plants right now, I hope to get some jungle Val, dwarf sag, and maybe some tiger lotus. I don’t have a plan for lighting, but probably just a cheap clip on?

Tiger lotus is beautiful but becomes invasive.
Some ideas :

I was just reading an article about that! If (when) it got to large for the tank, I could move it to my 55 gallon?

Ooooo those are lovely ideas!

Would keeping the betta in the 2 gallon bowl be an option for a couple of months while my cory fry (in my 10 gallon) grow up and are large enough to move to my 55 gallon tank?

Well, most 5g cubes have a base dimension of 12”x12”x14”, which is OK for a Betta.

As always, bigger is better.

Depends on who makes the tank. I did a little research, and most 5g cubes are from 11”x11”x14”+ - 12”x12”x14”.
Odd! I can’t even find a 5 gallon cube:lol: the 14 gallon cube im looking at is 15x15x15. Problem is, it’s $40 and doesn’t even include a heater or light, and I don’t have $70 to put into another tank. I forgot to look at my LFS when I was thereyesterday

Cubes do look nice, but they aren’t worth it in my opinion. You can buy a regular 15 gallons tank for much less than $40. (A 5g or 10g tank will be even more inexpensive)

I love rimless too, is that expensive?

Yes, that’s true. Petco actually sells their 15 gallon (just standard) for $40
