Mini Sales Boards

With fish we have a lot of collection only items and would it not be a good idea to have seperate sales boaards for like midlands north south etc

It could potentially work, but to categorize every major country, and then regions in that country, would be a lot of subforums. The best bet is to put the location in the topic title or description, so people can see before they click on it.

It would be so much easier if people would just label their topic properly.

There is a place for the topic
and a topic description

topic should be whats for sale
description should be the area they live in or if they are willing to ship

Would save many people time.

I think Annastasia has already said why it wouldn't work. A board for each active country is already going to be many, but in itself, already useless as some countries are huge, so they would need sub-dividing.

Mr Miagi for example, an "Australia" board would be no good, because you are unlikely to drive from Perth to Brisbane to collect a guppy. Even if it was divided into states, would that help, are you going to drive from Brisbane to Cairns for a guppy? So city based?

People are also different. Some people have problems going to the next town to collect something, while I drive all over northern Europe to do so. Where to draw the line?

Another killer, you want an Xyzzyphorous abcdii, you will need look in the city board to see if there are any "collect only's", the state or country board to see if there are any that will post/deliver to your state, or the global board to see if there is an exporter that will supply you.

You end up with hundreds of boards, mostly with nothing on them, not used because it is to much hassle to find anything.

it'd just make things much harder, people simply labelling topic's correctly would solve the problem

LL, I totally agree. I know you couldnt attempt dividing boards up into Countries, then Cities, yadda yadda. I agree with everyone else, a proper labelled thread will solve the issue. I posted your thoughts, and that of many in this thread too:
