Mineral Mud/ Miracle Mud

I recently asked a customer at work if he could pick me up a jar of Mineral Mud when he was next at the place that sells it.

He went out travelling on the weekend and enquired about it for me and when asking for mineral mud he was told it was a waste of money and advised getting the "proper stuff" Miracle mud.

he didn't persue the sale so is there any truth in this?

No I dont think so, its just more expensive, when they did a detakied anyalysis on miracle mud they sound it to be mainly quartz sand

miracle mud is a rip-off.
I would stick to mineral mud.

Until about a month ago i worked in a shop that sold both Mineral mud and Miracle mud.

Mineral Mud= larger profit markups

Mineral mud= Half the price usually.


I use mineral mud and find it no less efficient than the other variety. I also know a shop with 2 display tanks, one is mineral mud and the other is Miracle. Both work just as well as each other with the exception of price of course.
