Not too long ago Militades died of dropsy. When he got really pinecony I started treating him with anti bacterial meds, as well as with penicillin and Epsom salt. I put Livius beside him to see if that would perk him up enough for him to maybe recover. He didn’t, but I left Livius by him anyway so he didn’t die alone. After he died Livius got horrific finrot, as if wanting to die with him. Nothing I had on hand was working so I went and bought some Maracyn 2 and started treating him with that. By that time (which had barely been a week) his dorsal was completely gone and so were huge chunks from his tail and anal fins. He started looking a little better, not laying on the bottom so much, after two treatments.
Since I’d gotten Miltiades from Wuv, I asked her if she had another red plakat, she said she did, and he’s on his way (I think, I hope).
I went to my friend Kiarra’s on Thursday and got one of her green plakat from her, Havoc. The change was immediate. Today he’s been more active. He swims despite he’s also completely missing a pectoral, eats, and even flares at the fish around him.
So, I really have hope he’ll make it now. After I get the red PK from Wuv, I expect him to really start to recover.
I seriously think Livius is as straight as a rainbow. I put a female red PK (also from Wuv) beside him with absolutely no effect. He only like PKs though. I put Toxin (a VT) next to him and he ignored him until I got Havoc. Now he flares a little at Toxin, but pays most of his attention to Havoc. When Miltiades was alive, sometimes I'd put them in the same tank and keep an eye on them. Livius would always build a nest and try to entice Miltiades under it. Miltiades would follow, have a look, and wander off. They never nipped or fought. Not once. Which is more than I can say for my male and female breeding pairs!! XD
I know I’ll really miss Miltiades too, he was a one in million fish, one in a billion with Livius. *Sob*

Look how cute he was. His little dorsal reminded me of a flame, because it twisted and flickered when he swam and stopped.

His messed up fins are due to the fact he’s had really mild cases with finrot he’s had ever since I got him.
