I understand that and I know that this obviously means you'll want to use it and you still can. There is no reason why you cannot enjoy some shrimp or a single fighter if you maintain it well. I know that isn't what you had in mind, but it really is the only option you have without being unfair to the fish. You can either not use the tank, or compromise. People aren't trying to be harsh here, they just care about fish and see far too many post a few weeks after we've advised people not to get certain fish, saying that they are ill or have died.
