Hi all,
I am soon going to be redoing my 10g aquarium. My planned stocking is:
15 Boraras Micros
6 Corydoras Hastatus
My question is, will the corys be OK in a tank that is cube shaped, the total surface area is about 150 inches square (Sorry don't know how to type the little 2  ) the tank is about 14.5 inches tall. Would this be ok for the Corydoras Hastatus? (Their common name is 'Tail spot Pygmy cory' isn't it?)
Thanks People :good:

Greetings, I have a normal-shaped 10 USG tank with approximately 25 C. hastatus and 40 or so micro rasboras. As long as you do regular water changes, what you propose is perfectly fine, although many will say you have reached the upper limit of stocking the tank. Obviously, that would not be my opinion. - Frank

That has given my confidence a huge boost as I thought I would be maybe over stocking. I can't wait to go get the little things now  :D
Thanks a load for the reply :good: :)

I do agree with Frank on this and as to the cube tank they will be fine, my habrosus love their planted cube;)

I'm so glad I joined this forum, you're all really helpful :D Thanks for the replies people. :) :good:

Course, I will try pics, may have to get my dad to take them because my digital camera is nothing compared to his SLR  .

I have another question, about the sand I have, i'm not really sure if its ok for corys, its very similar to the sand found on beaches, a natural colour, each grain about 1 third of a millimeter in diameter. It came in a bag simply labelled aquaium sand, pre washed, safe for use in aquarium, great for bottom feeders.

I have never had much luck with cories before, every time I got a group (Never pygmies before) they died off 1 by 1 over a long time until one was left who survives indefinitely  I'm not really sure of the reason for this. The most recent survivor went down to the tank I set up at the local school (Mum works there and maintains the tank) which already had 3 corys in it, they have been in there for a while now and seem perfectly happy.

I'm being hopeful this time, with a fresh start and a good group I hope they will live happy and long lives in my tank. :)

*EDIT* I'll ask this question in a new topic.
