Has anybody got any information on different methods of presenting food to fish in an aquarium/tank setting? I just wondered how different people made food interesting for their fish and also how they managed to link it in with the level of water that there particular species/breed of fish lived and ate in (I.e: Top, middle, bottom) as well as their particular dietary needs.. It will be interesting to see what people say. :)

I always soak my flake food for a few seconds in an egg cup of water from the tank to make sure it doesnt all float on the top and get gobbled by by top/middle feeders before the bottom feeders get a chance. When feeding defrosted live foods I always make sure I put some at each end of the tank and middle at the same time to give everyone a fair chance!

I have a clear plastic tube which I use to deliver granules to a clear gravel patch at the front of the tank, this makes it easier to count and inspect the fish
I have a stainless steel clip attached to fishing line that I use to feed cucumber, carrot etc

My regular food I give is JMC catfish pellets for my corys on bottom and also some flakes. keeps all the fish happy but also some of the others will go for the pellets too. I feed frozen food once a week as a treat for them. I defrost the frozen food in a small amount of tank water. Put it on top of the tank where the light is for heat then drop it in when defrosted! Otherwise they all attack the floating cubes!

My new betta only likes to be hand fed in the manner of a baby bird. If food floats out of his line of vision he can't be bothered going after it and comes back begging. He eats off a teaspoon, a plastic chopstick and my (clean) fingers, so I'm going to get a pair of long handled tweezers which might be more efficient. He only likes the frozen stinky food and a flake or two, and goes crazy for a bit of green pea.

For the corys I try to throw the pellets at each end of the tank near the front where I can see them. The pellets usually drift on the way down and get stuck in a plant but the corys don't mind.

When i feed my tank the barbs go into a frenzy whilst as for "sparky" my blue acara i have to feed by hand or he wont get a look in.

Keith.
