As per the title my metallic GSP has been closed up for two days now. It closed up after I accidently knocked one of the powerheads and it had too much flow over it. I moved the powerhead back to where I thought it was but it still stayed closed. I have now moved it to another spot in the tank (with lower flow) and will see what happens today but was wondering if there is anything more I can do?

Water tests all come out ok (ammonia/nitrite zero, nitrate <3ppm, no detectable phosphate, Ph is 8.3, havent tested the rest but all other livestock is fine).

Anyone else had this happen? How long will it survive if it doesnt open up again?

Well I did a water change on sunday with a more saline solution and the GSP didn't like it. It was close for the rest of Sunday and Monday and part of it (the part that is growing on the back) has opened today. The rest is still yet to open.

I would say that the closure is only temporary and it is just sulking.

hmmmmm hope so. Come back home today and its still mostly closed. One or two polyps are out but the rest is no better. Will give it another day or 2 in its current spot mainly and then try moving it somewhere else I guess. Never had this problem with my GSP before, it was always pretty happy no matter where it was.

Did your GSP open back up Barney?

Mine are back to normal again today thankfully.

It was open (halfway) yesterday when I got home and then at some point it closed up again. Looking a lot better today though and is almost completely opened up (thankfully).

Still not 100% sure what caused it. But will keep a watch on the tank parameters for the next couple of weeks.

Think I spoke to soon, at some point yesterday evening it closed up again.

i have looked and couldnt see anything obvious but it is entierly possible i wouldnt have noticed tehm even if they where there.

Yeah, a lot of flatworms and nudibranchs are very small...

Dont want to jinx it but it is looking ok again now, hopefully it stays that way :)
