Its done Fishblast; he has a grand spot for you just to the right of catfish castle by the celtic cross...he is always mooching around there so you are assured of his best attention...and very unusually for him he has waivered any up-front deposit!! You have obviously made a big impression on him! ( )

Come on Flubs, can't you see him coming to life when the moon goes down, donning wellies (and spade, maybe guitar-shaped) and trudging through the graveyard doing his thing? The Ilyodons have decided that trying to eat his hair is a good game so I may have to get him a hairnet or something...might ruin his street-cred though

One of my spotted raphaels has now moved into the coffin just to the left of Meldrew...sensible fishy, as Meldrew is a very messy eater!

My java moss got bored and fell asleep. -.-
My willow moss on the other hand, now looks like some kind of salad. Or flower... it grew light-green vines that hang out of it.

its obviously happy in there then! Hope Tzuppy is OK...I lost three of my hoplo's who I realised too late weren't eating as they were perhaps a little too small and being pushed out by the greedy tankmates, but my last hoplo is growing fast! He/she is growing very quickly and is the biggest of the catfish presently, seems to be happy with the armoured catfish and holds her own, feeding well and looking good!

Tzuppy is ok, but got attacked by the whatevertheheckitwas creature or maybe just a yellow sand grain, that left a round hole in his right cheek, just between two of his nostrils on that side. The hole is healing as it shrank, but whatever that was (I'm suspecting a tiny apple snail but I didn't see any eggs to support it) is still in the tank and might hurt other fish if it is a creature.

Sorry for your hoplos, usually they are the greedy ones... You could have taught them to feed at the surface like mine though. Mine eats directly from my hand.
Only time I had a premature death of a hoplo was with Bitza. She was so tiny and I dropped her while water changing (was doing 100% so had to move her out)... She fell with her head over the tank's edge. When I put her back in water, she couldn't swim right and died the next day.

Here it seems to have equal status for the fish, but not for the snails (reason why I must feed my apple snails outside, in a bowl).
Tzuppy gets his share and the other fish just eat what I put on the surface. The fry eat whatever falls, but recently my biggest fry, Pinky, is also feeding at the surface when it comes to flakes.
There's this tiny fry that Tzuppy guards, the only survivor of my latest swordie batch. It feeds on the debris that my hoplo stirs up. And sometimes on tiny flakes that fall. It doesn't have a name yet though, I never intended to save that one, it's plain dark-red and I already have 3 fry that are older from the same female. But oh well... It earned its living. X))

Thanks to Scotty for his xmas moss wig; Meldrew said 'I don't believe it'! Neither do I, his head actually didn't fall off for a change...should I get him a guitar, he looks a little like Brian May?

Meldrew needs a "grade 0" mate... and needs to be repositioned relative to your tank coffin so one foot is inside it!
