Meet..... Well He Doesn't Have A Name Yet

I was at the pet shop today, I was planning on buying a Gourami for my 30 gal community.
Well I bought my Gourami (But that's another story)

I was admiring the Betta's, as I always do when I go to the pet store. And this guy just caught my attention and wouldn't let go!

Meet.... well I'm still thinking on names

(He's going to stay in the vase he's in for about 24-36 hours. Both for quarantine and because the tank isn't ready yet.) - I'm making a tank divider, as he will go in my 20 gal with Casper. But the glue isn't dry yet.
I figure he should be okay in said vase for a while (It's 5x bigger than the cup he came in so he's already pretty happy) Imagine how excited he'll be when he gets 10 gal to himself

I'm pretty sure he's a VT, with some fin rot/stress/nips on his fins that I'm going to have to keep an eye on.

Anyways!! The name Perseus (Or Percy for short) Sounds like a good name.... Though Luther is okay too... Anyone have any suggestions? (Please not Fishy or Sushi. I've seen the list some members have posted)

nice beta, i would name him Blueberry haha i know its silly, but he reminds me of an unripe blueberry that still has the pink on it.. hah

but the names that you thought of are really great too

Lovely colouration. Really like the red tips on his fins. I agree that he is a VT as well. Good spot

I wish the glue would dry faster I don't want to leave him in there over night.
Would it be okay to put him in a breeder trap, so he at least gets aerated water? Though I suppose technically he can surface breathe.
Though maybe the small space would be stressful.... Idk Opinions for what I should do?

That fish is a beauty! I like Percy. So Percy will get to split the 20 gallon with the other Betta? I do not have experience with them...does the divider have to be opaque so that they cannot see each other?

Yeah, they'll each get 10 Gal, which is plenty of space
The divider can be opaque, but mine isn't, it's just screen like you would have in the window.
They'll be able to see each other, it'll be some excitement for them. If it gets to be too much stress for one or both of them then I'll figure out a way to make it better

I know what you mean about not letting you go, that's how I got Bulldog Fred. I named him Bulldog, but the wife calls him Fred. Hey if he gets her interested in fish we'll live with it.
As fer names Luther sounds fitting.
What type of gourami did you get?

I ended up getting a Pearl, as I was told (On here ) that it was peaceful enough to live in a 30 gal community.

My little sister, who is 2 and a bit has decided his name is Blue MaGoo. So now I guess he's Percy Blue Magoo I like it
