This is my lovely cat Suzie - a lilac point Siamese (the traditional type - not the modern breed). When got her almost 10 years ago from a little old lady who's husband died. She hated cats so locked poor Suzie out the house for several months and left food for her to eat outside :/ Suzie was such a tiny timid little thing and not having had any protection and a house to run into, she got into an awful lot of fights - so when we got her she was absolutely covered in scabs every inch of her body. She was a petrified cowering wreck, and for the fist week hid under any object she could find. It took her several months to venture out of my bedroom and probably around 6 months before she had the courage to step from my bedroom into the TV room - just across the hallway :/
Over the first year we had her, she transformed completely into a most loving affectionate cat :D

Sadly we lost Suzie last year due to a lymphoma (cancer) and after several lump removals and exploratory laparotomy, she was finally put to sleep :-(
She was a little Angel though and sorely missed.

Here are some photos of her.

awww bloo she is so lovely, her markings are brilliant - how could someone lock her out ?? people are mad sometimes !

In a couple of shots she looked very light, almost like a rose point -- so gorgeous. Sorry for your loss, bloozoo2.

Thanks guys. Yes, how people could do such things to such lovely animals boggles the mind. Yes, some of those photos were 3 years apart and her colours became more intense as she grew older. She elso looks a lot lighter in the sun - and I also lost some picture quality as they were scans of photo prints - didn't have a digital camera back then :)

POTM nom for this pic...such a cute pose she's in..almost looks rehersed lol.

"this is my good side mum, thank you"

I 2nd the nomination of the last shot. She found a perfect cool spot in that picture.

Ah thanks so much for the nominations everyone ! That's actaully the (old no longer used) postbox she was lying in - it's just a hole in a wall in a pillar

What a beauty she was
I 4th the nomination

That looks nothing like where a mailbox was  lol :D

I fifth the nomination. She was very lovely! I love that softer look to the head. I know there's quite a bit of controversy over the Siamese's head now. Some prefer the older, more apple-shaped head with less of a hard wedge, while others really think the modern breed with its very long, angular face is best. What's your take on this?

amazing that someone would essentially abandon such a beautiful kitty like that--i'm sure she would have fetched a pretty penny if the biddy had tried to sell her instead! people are such fools...

i nominate her for potm
do not mind which pics they are all lovely

Thanks again everyone for your nominations. I've added her to the March POTM competion, though I can already see she's up for some massively tough competion this month   It's just nice (for me really!) to share her story and photos and I'm glad you guys liked them.
