I just stopped finrot from one of my bettas. he's healthy again.

Is it a good idea to add medcine to the bowls, even when they're healthy to ensure they stay healthy?

Or just use it as needed?

Just use it as needed - but make sure you give it to him through the entire course as directed on the bottle, or it could come back.

No need to use it any other time unless you see a problem.

Hi...no such thing as a preventive. Chronically adding medicine to the tank will select out the good and leave the strong, ie, create resistance and really set your fish up for a bad time. SH

ok thanks. How about stress coat? is that as needed as well?

I use stress coat as my dechlorinator all the time.
7 drops per gallon.

LOVE the stuff.
Don't use anything else for dechlor - just that.
