When reading up on cories overall, read they are extremely sensitive to water quality and meds.
Is there a general rule of thumb with what meds can and cant be used with cories?

I thought it may be useful to have a thread that has peoples experiences of what to use and not use with them?
When relating to certain diseases (common ailments) are there certain meds you would go to?
Perhaps I dont know:

Ich/Whitespot?
Unsure what diseases are common on cories

If blabbing please ignore  One thing I do hate with fishkeeping is as I am relatively new, I am appauling at knowing how or what to treat certain fish. With bettas I have learnt possibly the hard way and currently learning the hard way with my pygmies. It would be good to know and be prepared for any future things that may or may not happen :good:

as they seem sensitive to meds due to them being scaleless fish i have been told to treat in half doses and double the treatment period, this way they get the full medication but over a longer time.
ive never had to treat any of my corys for any disease so far and ive only lost 1 that was too far gone to save....

That sounds like good advice Mattlee, are there certain meds that should go on a list definately not to use or use with caution?

Yeah I can say copper safe used at 1.50 ppm is too much. Mine lost some of there barbs after treating them with this for a week. I did a fee large wc to get the copper out . Then I added prima Fix to treat the barbs I lost one Cory. Another one acted all weird it's gills puffed up. So I stopped that did large wc. The one that's gills and face puffed up got better on his own with the only treatment being clean water. He is still alive. My other corys are Doing well and thier barbs have since grown back.

Don't treat corys unless you really must. Clean water is all they really need. I did use Formalin-3 to treat ich and that was 100% safe on the Corys I had no problems useing it at full dose.

So I learned less is best and clean water is all they really need.
