have 6 yellow labs and 1 red zebra in my 29G currently.....what else could go in from mbuna.....or maybe even some hap sp. "ruby green" ?

male or female red zebra?

your probarbly pushing it as it is.. personally i wouldn't keep a red zebra in a 29g. my alpha male red zebra would tear apart a 75g

in a small tank like that i would stick to fish like P.acei, and your yellow labs

I agree, you're tank is at it's limits unless you are a extremely diligent with your tank maintenance, in which case you can sneak in a few more mild mannered mbuna - they do well in overstocked conditions, but at this point you will be looking at very frequent water changes and very good filtration to keep up.

The red zebra may or may not give you problems in that tank as he matures, but as long as you keep him singly he could work out. Time will tell.

In a 29 haps will absolutely not work, as they grow to a decent size and need lots of swimming space. Most mbuna will not work because a small tank like this simply gives no room for their aggression.

A couple of species you can consider, should you decide to do some considerable overstocking, are Iodotropheus Sprengerae (rusty) and Pseudo. Saulosi.

uhm ok my question wasnt about space but i forgot this is the famous "fishforums"

my red zebra has no problem in this tank she was with these guys from a juvenile size and if anyone dioes get beat up its her.

and uhm lets see what i pulled off cichlid-forum

29 gallon aquariums are not very different than the 20 gallon long, despite the almost 50% increase in volume. Floor space (or the footprint of an aquarium) is a major factor in determining which species one can keep and how many of them. Most cichlids keep territories and those territories are along the bottom. Since the 20 gallon long and the 29 gallon have the same footprint, they are very similar as far as stocking recommendations are concerned.

Tanganyika Mini-Community

• Tanganicodus irsacae - 6
• Synodontis petricola - 5

Victoria & Malawi Combo

• Haplochromis sp. "Ruby Green" - trio
• Pseudotropheus lanisticola - 5
• Ancistrus temminckii "Bristlenose Pleco" - 2

and even was informed from a reputable breeder in my area and member of CAAS that in a 29G 2 trios of Peacocks would even work, my question was not about space it was about compatibility...Diet wise and Prameters Wise

Thank You for the wise comments i love this place

Sure, do a trio of the haps, and while you're add it, throw in a trio of peacocks. They work for diet. But then, you already know this from cichlid-forum, so why are you wasting peoples time?

Hmm.. look at the first response on THAT site. go figure.
