Mbuna and Synos

Thanks and very true. By the way if freddyk is happy about CL's with Mbuna, I wouldn't worry about it if you were considering them. They are brilliant fish!

Well i agree with thebaldranger, after all i keep loaches ewith mine lol, but saying that i have soooo many algae grazin cats in there, but they are too idle to go and "find" their own algae, they just wait for the wafers, maybe they should go a on a diet?

:dunno:

There is prety much no algae problem in my tank and it sits in direct sunlight for most of the day, If I increase and decrese feeding of my mbuna I can get my algae as long as 2 inches in little hairs, but less food and this disapears in only a few days. I do have a permanent algae layer, but think this is more do to sun than the fish a pleco could doubtfully make anymore difference, when the tank was newer the algae oculd have disapeared entirely.

So if the CLs would be ok with Mbuna could I consider other loaches? - I particularly like Pakistani.

One of my lfs has some good sized CL but their colours are very pale - is this normal with the juveniles being much 'brighter'?

Deffinitely not Pakistani loaches  I and my cousin have both tried to keep these fish and they have either straight away or over time become very nasty, tearing at other fishes fins, eyes and barbels................

They are nice but forget them!

Instead try the polka dot loach, candy stripe (botia striata), red/yellow finned loach, feeling adventurous and got sand go for the horse faced loach
