Maybe My First Saltwater If I Can Get Help With It Pl

Hi i have a spare 20g and would like to do saltwater i have an external filter and heater what else do i need also do i need to cycle it with saltwater or can i just normally cycle it and then add the salt can use make a list of what i would need ect pl thanks

-Protein Skimmer
-Saltwater (yes you do need it)
-Liverock
-Test Kit (liquid test kit for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph)
-Refractomerter (for testing the salinity)

You don't really need a skimmer if you do larger water changes or have a refugium. Just saying. If you don't want to go through that extra work, then yes, a skimmer is good to have.

I've yet to use one. I've got a Hydor Slim skim nano, that hasn't even been open.
