Maxi-jet Powerhead

I have purchased 2 powerheads Maxi-Jet 900 and the similar Maxi-Jet 600

each have a type of air induct system (venturi), it takes the shape of a simple length of airline which resides above the water line as water is forced through the outlet air is drawn into the flow. You can adopt to use this feature or simply not install the airline do disable this function. What should I do for my Nano Reef, have it enabled or just not bother, are there any benefits of using such a device.

Not a good idea in a display reef tank. Those venturi inlets can sometimes create microbubbles that can get under the soft skin of invertebrates and cause embolisms. Better off disabling the function.
