Hey,
Do any of you guys know how long some mature media from my LFS would last without sufficient water flow? Also, what would the best way of transporting it be?

As I cannot drive, I have to catch the bus into town which takes 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and the time of day.

Josh.

That should be fine. If our filter bacteria died in 40 mins we would all have major problems with a short powercut.

Just make sure it is in the filter & running within 2 hours & you should be ok.

 Great, I better think of something I need to buy from them so I don't feel cheeky randomly asking for some of their filter media. :)

Aww, I was going to dry the media out and put it in my pocket ;) Just kidding ahah, but thanks for 'reminding' me Westwood! :D :D :D

No :/
I'm just hoping they will be willing to help. If they're not then I'm rather stuck...

If they aren't, It looks like I shall be waiting a hell of a long time for my tank to cycle.

Good luck, not all lfs is willing to give media,if they do -has long has its kept wet it should be fine, ask them to add a little tank water in the bag for good luck.

I added mature media to my cycle & it still took 3 months. so dont hold your breath

That sounds painful! I would have to get some goldfish if I had to wait that long!

Yes, however they are very resistant to bad water conditions. :D
