Mature Media Donation

I'm going to start setting up my tank next week and I'm looking for somebody that can donate some filter media to give me a head start?

I live in Chester, UK. Surrounding areas will be okay to pick up from too


Also, I tried to PM somebody in the mature media donation list but it comes up with this error:
You are not allowed to use the messenger feature on this board

so I cant seem to use PM

St. Helens is a bit far though because I can't drive, and my mum would have given me a lift if it was somewhere closer.

Do you know how much the mature media would help with the cycling? I've done a little search and couldn't find much info really. If it really does help maybe it'll be worth it to collect it by train?

adding mature media means that once u add it to the filter, it will start the gettin rid of the ammonia/nitrite straight away....

if you really want(and this is me being really nice), PM me your name and address and i'll send you some of my sponge, with some aquarium water via first class delivery?? i'm not sure how long the bacteria will b able to survive, but its worth a try

can someone else post their opinions on this??

Its quite alright, i know what its like to start out, and i had many problems due to being mis informed by the manufacturer so i just want to make sure you get it right
