Maturation Ages

I apologise if this is asked and answered clearly elsewhere, but I was unable to find it.

At what sort of ages to livebearers (mollies and platys in particular) reach the age of maturation, or whenever it is that they start reproducing? Is it as soon as they can be sexed, or do they still have some more 'puberty' to go through?!

generally 3 months but swordtails can take up to a year IME
