Before leaving for work today I was observing my tank, as I often do for the Zen affect, and I noticed my CPDs pairing.

Not just 1 male/female, but almost all the bigger male/females paired up. A little chase and then arched their sides to form kind of an oval shape between the pair. First nose to tail with a shimmy and vibration, and then nose to nose with a shimmy and vibration.

Is this mating? Or pre-mating ritual?

I didn't see any eggs or any spawning...but they are small, and my eyesight is terrible.

Mine seem to do a lot of displays, but don't pair up as such
The males show off to the females & chase them into the plants,
What they do there I've never seen, but at the moment I have 5 tiny fry

I doubt I will get any fry this soon. I have only had them for 3 weeks.

None the less this was pretty exciting to see, and tells me they are happy in their new environment.:)

I do plan on attempting to breed them, but I have been concentrating on setting up adequate living conditions, food, and trying to color them up.
Fry now would be a sweet bonus, but unplanned parenthood.
