ok here are some pictures of my mates tank we are having some trouble with algae

here are some pictures

as u can see the sand was meant to be white but has turned green for some reason
Part from that the water parameters and everything is OK

the sand is green cuz theres algea growin on it, try shuttin ur lights off a little earlier

I dont think thats all algae on your white sand. I had my fine grained sand turn that colour over a period of 3 days whilst i treated my tank with a blue-green anti bacterial. It disapated over the next fortnight though, and with a coupl of gravel vacs all was gone!

Has your mate added any meds lately?
