Marine Stocking

Thanks Miss Wiggle.
I think we might have to research that little bit more into the world of corals. I must admit I really like the idea of keeping them but want to make sure I know what I'm doing.

definately

but don't be scared they're not half as hard as you might think. all you really need is a decent light and to keep an eye on things like phosphate levels. :good:

i've found corals much easier than FW plants actually!

It seems so daunting when you read about marine tanks!
On the other hand, we are really looking forward to setting it up as they look so good. We've got to spend the weekend decorating so we can set both of our tanks up. I was hoping to spend it at the lfs drooling at the fish!

yeah it's a lot to take in at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine, especially with all the helpful people on this forum to help you.

if i can do it you can!! :good:

You just have to remember that the key to a good marine tank is stability and the best way to keep things stable is to research, plan ahead and take it slowly.

We've been reading up on marines for a while now but not thoroughly researched it. We are going to do as much research as possible before we get started. The chap at the lfs who sold us the tank is going to give us as much help as possible and a friend of ours will also give us some pointers. I just want to get as much help and advice as we can to ensure we are doing things correctly.
We are not in a rush as we are setting up a 5ft Rena tank for Barbs and Plecos as well. We plan to get that set up and cycling and then start setting up the marine tank. Didn't plan on getting the two tanks at the same time but the marine one was such a bargain, I think we would have been daft to turn it down!

Our biggest love is Plecos so we decided to get a huge tank to allow us to get a couple more of them. We are using the smaller "nice" Rena for saltwater so don't worry!
