Marine In A Rekord 96

I think it would be a good bet

thanks for your replys.

what about say a 20% change???

I have added the maxijet 600 how many hours would you suggest running it for a day?? Goes without saying that I`m leaving the standard filter/jewel powerhead on 24/7 :S

with the maxijet powerhead 600 would any of you guys have the air valve opened to allow air mixed in with the flow????

The more flow the better IMO

What is your turnover (Flow) up to

IMo you should be aiming for a Min of 960 lph, I would go for 2000lph but that is just me (My old 100ltr used to run at 3600lph)

I`ve got 1000lph with the standard 400 filter and i`ve added the maxijet 600. In total 1000lph, but I just wonered if to have the bubbles going on the maxijet

bubbles

bubbles ?? How you mean ??

I can have it running just flowing water through it, or I can attach a pipe to the powerhead and it then adds bubbles/air to the flow which I can adjust at the end of the tube.

When I used to use Maxi's I never bothered with it

finally got the nitrate down to 10 over a period of 7 water changes daily.

readings now

ph 8 / 8.2
nitrite 0
amm 0
nitrate 10 :good:

added a flame shrimp

so in total i`ve got

96 litres tank, standard 400lph jewuel filter system, 1 600 lph maxijet powerhead, purigen in filter, rowa phos in filter.

10 kilos live rock, 1-1.5cm live sand bed

2 common clowns, 2 cleaner shrimps, 1 flame/blood, 2 turbo snails, 1 blue legged hermit, 1 red legged hermit

water change will be done 10% weekly. LFS only five minutes down the road for the RO water

any advice of anything else I need or should have?

chris

Banana Wrasse's are concidered NON - Reef Safe So IMO No not a good idea (& they get big)

Your reading look fine

Are you testing for Phos, kH, Mag, Calc

What is your Temp & Salinty

remember Stabilty is more important than spot on fiqures :good:

Pretty much agree with everything Chac posted. If you like the wrasse body look and personality, try looking into fairy wrasses. There are a HUGE variety of them, they rarely get over 4" in length, are extremely colorful, and relatively easy to keep. Just make sure you have a hood, cause they can spook and jump ;)

one of my clowns has started with his tail eating itself away!!!

I`ve scouted the net and it appears to be finrot. i`ve just done another water test and got the following

nitrate 10
amm 0
nitrite 0
ph 8.2
sal 1.024
temp 79

what shall/can I do????
