Marine Beta.

Daniodude, they dont grow large like most groupers. A Panther Grouper (The ones lfs like to sell that are all white with black spots) grow up to 3-4ft!!!

Betas (Or Comets) to about 5 inches I havve seen a phot o of one that is said to be 7 inches but this really is the limit of its size.

Being a grouper it really doesnt need a huge amount of swimming room. If you provide it with caes or overhangs then it will haippily hang out around these locations all day long. :D
I would advise a 40 gallon setup or larger for such a fish.

Only one word of cuation really...

These are groupers and thus it makes them predators. Any fish that will fit in its muoth can be a potential meal (Comets actually have relatively small mouths for groupers which is a bonus). They aaare not very good at catching fish to be honest but i would make sure that any shrimps you have in the tank are large enough to not fit in its mouth. :*)

Syaing that, the 7Inch Comet i know of is in a tank with lots of small fish and inverts and has totally ignored them. Feed it well and it should not have to hunt ;)

I have finally got some photos of him.
Please excuse the quality but he does like to keep to the shadows and his marking makeit hard for my camera to focus properly for some reason :b:
