how long after setting up and running a fuge would you have to leave it before getting a mandarin goby... guessing the fuge needs to mature or something?

if i remember rightly its something like 4-6months

hmmmmmm can we re-wind back about 2-4 months then and i'll start sorting out your birtiversary presents then

i had a plan and everything

get all the gear for the fuge for my burpday, and then i`ll get you the goby for yours :p

aye i as thinking of getting all/some of the stuff as an early birthiversary pressie for you when i get paid then the goby for your burpday in a couple of months.

i'll price it all up and think about it for your pressies though if that would be satisfactory?

I like the idea of a fuge, esp since i have a UV sterilizer would be a nice place 2 grow things... is it a model you got offline? self made?

nope a HOB fuge....

when we bought our tank it came with a hob filter that was useless, it has 3 compartments, we were planning of having a power head feeding from the tank to the bottom of compartment one,
this will house LR ect, and hopefully breed lots of pods.,
the second would house Miracle mud and lage to take care of nitrates,
the third compartment is only 2 inches wide and i would use that to house rowaphos ect.
then it will over flow back to the tank.

Much like this....

does that sound ok?

Can i be really thick and ask what HOB stands for or what it is?

Sorry bit of a stupid question!!

ha and they say couples dont talk nowadays :p

cheaper to talk on here when i'm at work rather than him phoning me.... actually looks like i'm working too which is always a bonus ;)

Yeah, an HOB can work too, just make sure that water gravity feeds from the fuge to the display so you dont chop up the copepods in the pump that you want to grow :)
