Why is it not a day after I move my healed female Thistle into the divided 10 gallon that my boy Arsenic in the divided 5 gallon starts going all odd on me? Basically, I came home from a friends house and found him on the bottom... At first I thought he was sleeping but he definately reacted to me, but he was acting almost like he was parilysed, not swimming to the top or anything. Since he was on the side with the filter I thought maybe he'd been fighting with the water flow and after cleaning the hospital 'tank' that Thistle had been in I moved him there... He's hanging out around the top of the waterline and barely swimming and not showing interest in -anything- . I looked at him really close and didn't see any parasites or fungus or well, anything. He's got clamped fins and he's not eating, barely swimming, with no visible signs of anything wrong. He's not bloated and water stats are all good... anyone have any ideas as to what it could be / what I could do?

Something is wrong if his fins are clamped, can he maintain his balance in the water, as it sounds like swim bladder to me.

He seems to be leaning to the left a little, sort of like he's resting against the side of the H.T...

Sounds like a bacterial infection, i would treat him, and if he's still eating try some shelled peas too, good luck.

He wouldn't eat last night but he was swimming better today before I left for work, so I'm hoping by the time I get home he'll have enough of an appetite for some peas, since I hasn't seen any fish poop in the hospital tank either. I have Macaryn, Macaryn 2, Primaflex and Metaflex... you think any of those would help or will I need to go buy something?

Maracyn one and two, good luck, don't forget to increase aeration.
