Male To Female Ratio - Mollies

We recently introduced 5 mollies into our tank and they were OK for the first few days, maybe a little subdued as our red finned shark asserted his authority. but yesterday they began systematically bullying the other fish to the point where I think they've killed 2 4" bala sharks and a gourami, we have isolated them for now but don't really want to keep them isolated.

Could this be caused by a lack of males, haven't sexed them as yet but we had 2 males and 3 females a while ago and never had any problems.

Please help I don't want to lose anymore fish.

normally you should 2 or three FEMALES to every 1 MALE

Whats the volume of the tank and what are the tank mates?

must admit though i have two female mollies and one is terribly aggresive to any other fish that comes near here. luckily she hasnt killed anyone yet though!

3 females to 1 male work fine for me my mollies get on fine with the other fish (rasboras,neons,platty's bn plecs and bronze corys) mine are so tame you can fed them by hand (hold a flake and there swim up and get it) theres a mass frenzey if you put a algea wafer or two in tho

Thanks for that will try adding more cover then release them, before they started attacking things their tank mates were:

2 small blue gouramis (One of which they have now killed)
2 4" Silver (Bala) sharks (I think they've killed
A Red finned shark
An elephant fish
A bristle nose cat fish

The tank is around 25 gallons so not huge but not too small either, will sex them when I get in and if need be go out and get another male because I really don't want to lose any more fish!

But any other advice would be great!

I have 4 females and 2 males and must say they seem very happy. The females get a little aggressive when pregnant.

Thats what I thought, one of them, possibly two do appear to be pregnant,
