Male Parki Found Dead :(

fed the fish a light meal going to give them some bloodworms later, all fish were fine, 30 minutes later parki on bottom of tank dead surrounded by barbs and a eye missing. I have seen the barbs and rainbows chase each other, but never would have thought they would kill. All water stats are fine. Got a murder on my hands i think. errrrrrrr if i would have seen which barb did it i would make him SUFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! took me 3 months to get that parki. DAMN

I am very upset so im leaving for awhile, this was my favorite fish and took me 3 months to even get in at the LFS.....

would the female possibly killed the male? he would chase her around alot and she didnt seem very receptive to this.

sorry about your fish........i dont have an answer for you but its possible the yoyo was sick already due to a number of causes (eg:it could have been a virus of some sort). illness does not always cause symptoms we can actually see . us humans drop dead too sometimes without any signs or symptoms before.
how long had you had your loach???
if you end up getting another bear in mind that these fish need to be with their own kind ie: groups of at least 2 or 3.

parki was referring to fish in the picture, a parkinsoni rainbow fish. hehe see the confusion though, lfs owner believes he might have been overfeeding on floating fish food and possibly consumed too much air during feeding. But, nobody really knows
