I recently purchased a betta from a LFS. I am aware of the obvious differences between the male and females. My betta's sex is in question though. It was labeled as a female but has a longer more pointed anal fin than most other females I have seen, and it's caudal fin is larger than I would expect of a female. The caudal kinda looks like I would expect a young delta tail. I will try to get a pic soon but could anyone offer any insight onto this? Thnx in advance.

Is there a little white sac on it. I noticed my females had it and my males did not.

Look for a little white dot on the belly just behind the paired fins (ventrals). This is the ovipositor and only females have it. It should be rather obvious if it is there :)
You can see it on this female of mine:

Here are some pics I managed to take.

It's a female, notice the ovipositor? Any plans to spawn that ct synnir? Both your bettas look nice.

Definitely female

tank212 -- Nope, no plans to spawn. She was a Walmart find and I've got no interest in breeding reds.
