Male Or Female ?

hi i have 5 baby platys ,at what age can you tell what sex they will become, at the moment they all have the fan shaped fin that females have. thanks for any info.
ps mine are six weeks old.

Mine started really showing signs of going male at 2 months, i.e. pointer anal fins. By four months, they had gonopodiums.

thanks i will keep watching them ,im hoping at least 3 of the 5 are female.

I guess i had really early ones becasue my platys were only 2 and a half months when one of them showed a gonopodium. But he was the only one and there are 4 more his age so maybe he was just early. I'd say the avreage is like Anna said, 3.5 to 4 months.

Keep an eye on them though, just as some develop early, some might be late developing males, they could be 6 or even 12 months old when they develop into males.
