Good morning, I have a rather unusual problem with a large male Mollie that Im hoping someone may help me with.
A couple of days ago I noticed one of my Male Mollies looking rather sorry for its self on the bottom of the tank obviously in some distress. The main thing that caught my eye was the fact that it has quite a distended stomach, but it still feeds.
The water temp is around 78-80deg, PH is between 6.5 and 7.5, the water is changed 30% every week, they are fed once a day on flake and live food about once a fortnight.
There are around 12 other community fish plus a few small catfish. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I know that mollies like brackish water, so some aquarium salt may help if not a problem for your other stock.

Thanks for your reply Fishoholic. I have now moved the Male Mollie to a small quarantine tank, so are you saying that I should add some salt to the water?

A picture if possible would help. It may be related to diet, or bacterial.

Yes - if you buy some aquarium salt it will say on the packet how much to put in :)
