I have two clown loaches, got them both at same size same color, they looked identical. now one of them is about an inch larger and somewhat fatter and he is a dark yellow orange. could this one be a male and the other a female? And do only one gender of these fish make the clicking noise? because i have only seen one of them do it.

Well exactly how large are they? They really only becomes sexually mature when they're around 7 inches long. There really is no good way to sex clown loaches...except I have heard that the males male fin looks a little different sometimes...the tips curve inward a little more or something. All in all...not a very good way to tell. They should be kept in a group of 4 or more though anyway.

Oh...and no, all the clown loaches make that clicking noise. :)

God Bless,
Joshua

The clicking noise is when they like what they are eating! so both do it (unless one is fussy lol)
Feed them more of whatever it is!

when mature female loaches grow longer and are fatter than males. The different colour doesn't mean anything.

ok well one is definatley fatter, it gulfs down a third of the blood worm cube all to himself
about keeping 4, mine really dont even seem to care, their almost never together and mind their own buisness.
