Male Guppies

You can get away with a pH of 7.0 on guppies but the 27C is warmer than I would use. By dropping the temperature to around 23 to 24C, you should help the guppies by bringing them closer to an ideal temperature and giving them more oxygen in the process. You do need to be careful of your other fish though. Temperatures are often the result of some kind of compromise between individual fish's optima.

What WOULD be helpful is if you could take a sponge from your old tank and use it in your new tank. (I don't know if squeezing the sponge out in the new tank will really help much, but it can't hurt). Of course, you don't want to leave your old tank w/out any biological filtration either. I don't know what size/type filters you have, but if you could take 1/4-1/3 of the media from your old tank to use in your new tank, that would help a lot.

the sponge wont fit my new tank as my old tank is a biorb and my new one is a fluval with a fluval 2plus filter

this filter doesnt seem to use any media its just got 2 sponges in it

the sponges in the fluval 2+ are the media. the bacteria grow on/in the sponge. ur stats will take a while to change and start to show readings of
normal
amm 0
nitrite 0
nitrate>10

they keep goin back up because u have no bacteria in the filter to change the amm the fish produce through there waste to nitrite and then to nitrate. so by doin the water change u are filtering the water for ur fish. while also giving ur filter a chance to get up and running.

every time ur readings are above what is normal u need to do a water change straight away

Beginners' Resource Centre

The most important sections right now are those on cycling and setting up a new tank. It is important to read and understand these articles (even if they seem complicated) as understanding this will help keep your fish alive while not understanding or not reading them will contribute to your fish dying.

These should answer many of your questions as well.

Good luck!
