Hello all,

I have a male younger and a female older kribensis! She always chases him around, and they both don't get along with my german blue ram pair that have been their longer. It looks like I should never of bought them. But before I did I was told that they are not aggressive and I shouldn't have a problem. Especially because they are in a 55 gallon planted aquarium. Please advise. Thank you to all

I had the same problem. Sometimes if the female doesn't accept the male, she will continue to harrass him untill he dies. This is often the case if the female is ready to breed and the male hasn't matured enough for mating.

You should have lots of caves, planters and other hiding places.

Are you hoping to get them to breed? :dunno:

The only thing i can add to this is just to warn you that ALL CICHLIDS are aggressive it's just that some more than others.Any fish trader who sells you a pair should know they will proberbly breed and when they do they will attack everything in sight, and even if there not breeding the females will always be aggressive toward most intruding fish.
The only way of keeping kribs and maintain a very peaceful tank is to keep 1 male alone.and even that only on occasion works.
